MLCC price increases concentrate in high-capacitance and large case-size parts for AI servers

Reports describe Murata raising prices 15-35% on selected AI-server, automotive and RF MLCCs from April 2026, with Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Taiyo Yuden and Yageo/Kemet reportedly following (eeNews Europe). The 15-35% figure is secondary-sourced and unconfirmed by Murata.

The pressure is concentrated in high-capacitance, higher-voltage parts and 1206/1210 case sizes, where lead times run 20+ weeks. Common 0402/0603 parts are largely unaffected. Capacity additions reportedly take 18-24 months.

Buyers should separate high-capacitance and large-case MLCCs from standard sizes in planning, and confirm lead times and allocation with suppliers.
