Infineon to sell NOR Flash and F-RAM business to Winbond for $1.12 billion
On September 16-17, Infineon announced an all-cash agreement to sell its entire NOR Flash and F-RAM memory business to Winbond for $1.12 billion, with closing targeted for H2 2027.
The divested unit would operate standalone under the revived Spansion brand, headquartered in Silicon Valley. TrendForce estimates Winbond's combined NOR Flash share would rise to roughly 34%, widening its lead. Analyst reaction to the deal has been split.
