BOSTON, MA, USA – Fusion Worldwide, a global electronic sourcing distributor headquartered in Boston, Mass., has made a $100,000 donation to Massachusetts General Hospital to go toward its efforts to combat COVID-19.
“Healthcare workers are on the front line fighting to stop the spread of COVID-19, and every day there is news of supplies to aid in the fight running low. This donation is a way for us to do our part to help those personally affected – beyond social distancing,” said Peter LeSaffre, CEO of Fusion Worldwide.
The company donation will aid the hospital in development of in-house testing, purchase of Personal Protective Equipment, device development and production, enhancement of telemedicine capabilities, and subsidization of childcare costs for essential hospital employees.
“The generous contribution from Fusion Worldwide will help ensure the Mass General work force has what it needs to continue the fight against COVID-19 in the weeks ahead and as we begin the process of recovery planning,” says Ann L. Prestipino, MPH, Senior Vice President for Strategy and Clinical Operations and Incident Commander for the COVID-19 Response at Mass General.
To date, there are close to 40,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. Practicing social distancing is helping to lessen the spread of the virus, yet with no vaccine, hospitals have been seeing an increasing number of patients. Fusion Worldwide greatly appreciates these healthcare workers and understands the positive impact a monetary donation can have to help end the coronavirus and ultimately save lives.
