Fusion Worldwide’s first employee spotlight of 2022 is Christos Karavasilis, a Global Strategic Trader from the Amsterdam office. Christos joined the Fusion Worldwide team in 2019 and quickly became an important asset with his professional, go-getter mentality earning him recognition both on the sales floor and around the office. Known for being a driven, passionate and creative individual, he is often praised for his competitive nature and ability to learn quickly.
“Christos’ talent for adapting to new information has been key to his growth,” states Jair Cruger, sales manager, EMEA, at Fusion Worldwide. “He is a results-oriented employee who knows the value of creating and fostering strategic relationships.”
Before joining Fusion Worldwide, Christos was a legal advisor in the oil industry. Transitioning to the electronic component supply chain market meant many new challenges. The biggest of those challenges was learning how to quickly respond to the rapid changes in the market caused by the volatility of supply and demand. Christos attributes his flexibility to his unrelenting devotion to studying new technologies, allowing him to stay ahead of trends.
Earning a spot in the starting line-up of a successful team has been the biggest opportunity that Christos credits to Fusion Worldwide. Having the chance to get in on the ground floor and help shape Fusion Worldwide’s growing legacy is a career and life milestone that has meant a lot to him as he has grown within the company.
His work mantra is a quote from Michael Jordan: “If you do the work, you get rewarded. There are no shortcuts in life.” His passion for trading is fueled by the rush of adrenaline that comes from getting the job done. Being surrounded by people who have the same enthusiasm is equally rewarding and part of why he values being a part of Fusion Worldwide.
“Having your morning coffee on the trading floor is like a concert of languages from Italian to South African to Mandarin,” answers Christos. “The energy that comes from having a diverse team is infectious.”
Christos wants to foster that international cooperation by expanding Fusion Worldwide’s base of European, Middle Eastern and African partners among different verticals and emerging industries. Although this is his goal for a year from now, he knows that it will require a lot of patience and time.
For Christos the key word is ‘partnership.’ This goal won't be achieved within a day, but the results are well worth the time and effort. Having strong relationships with international partners means steady communication and cooperation that can always be relied upon, no matter what the condition of the market. He looks forward to nurturing these relationships for years to come and strengthening Fusion Worldwide’s global presence.
